    – Free 2 preparation days including a pre-assessment of your diving skills and a refresher if you haven’t been diving for a while

    The price excludes:
    – Equipment rental: 4 000 PHP for the duration of the course
    – PADI Membership fee after certification: 260 AUD
    – Accommodation – we can offer preferred monthly rental in our Divemaster Shared House or Divers Lodge

  • Prerequisites before starting the course:
    – Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver
    – 18 years old (15 years old for Junior Divemaster)
    – Logged 40 scuba dives
    – Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months
    – Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months

  • Diving equipment:
    A full set of diving equipment is required for the course. The list can be found here: What diving equipment should I own as a Divemaster?
    If you don’t own a full set of diving equipment, you can rent it from us or we can help you with any purchases.

One of the best diving spots in Philippines

Moalboal is renown as one of the best diving spots around the Philippines. With an amazing weather all year round and the temperature of water never dropping below 27°C / 80°F it’s a place where you can dive everyday.

All the dive sites are easily accessible, no further than 15 minutes boat ride from our dive shop. The reef is extremely healthy and full of different species of marine creatures and corals. Two of the best diving spots around Moalboal are:

Sardines

The go to dive site for everyone visiting the Philippines. Schools of millions of sardines congregate close to the shore, providing one of the best diving experiences not only in the Philippines, but around the world. Sardines are here each and every day, all year round. Since they can usually be seen on the depths ranging from 10m/30ft to 18m/60ft they are accessible for all divers.

Pescador Island

An island situated around 1 nautical mile from the shore. Renown for it’s soft coral formations and amazing topography. One of the most biodiverse dive sites around the Philippines, with hundreds of different and unique species of corals and marine creatures. Pescador Island can provide excellent opportunities to drift dive for experienced divers.

What qualifications you’ll gain after PADI Divemaster Course?

The PADI Divemaster certification and active teaching status entitles you to:

  • Supervise both training and non training-related activities by planning, organising and directing dives.

  • Assist an instructor during confined and open water training.

  • Teach and certify PADI Advanced Snorkelers (Skin Divers) independently. This also includes conducting the PADI Seal Team AquaMission: Skin Diver Specialist.

  • Conduct the Discover Snorkeling Program.

  • Conduct subsequent dives under an instructor’s indirect supervision for Discover Scuba Diving participants at a 2:1 ratio, after participants have satisfactorily completed the first dive with an instructor.

  • Conduct the Discover Local Diving experience.

  • Conduct the ReActivate program for certified divers.

  • Accompany certified PADI Scuba Divers on subsequent dives.

What will you learn during PADI Divemaster Course?

The main objective of the PADI Divemaster training is to prepare you to be a professional underwater guide who will be able to manage diving activities, participate as an assistant in PADI courses and be a role model for other divers. To achieve this, it is necessary to acquire extensive knowledge of diving theory (physics, physiology, environment, equipment and decompression theory) as well as mastering diving skills to perfection.

During the PADI Divemaster course you’ll have to master the theoretical part of diving knowledge using the PADI eLearning program. It consists of the following topics:

  • The Role and Characteristics of a PADI Divemaster

  • Supervising Diving Activities

  • Assisting with Student Divers

  • Diver Safety and Risk Management

  • Divemaster Conducted Programs

  • Specialized Skills and Activities

As part of the practical part, it is necessary to complete the following exercises and workshops:

  • Waterskills Exercises
    – 400 meter/yard swim
    – 15 minute Thread
    – 800 Metre/Yard Swim using fins, mask and snorkle
    -100 Metre/Yard Inert Diver Tow
    – Equipment Exchange

  • Diver Rescue
    Unresponsive and non-breathing diver underwater – the entire rescue exercise must be carried out: starting with finding an unresponsive diver underwater, getting the diver to the surface, towing them to safety whilst giving rescue breaths and removing equipment

  • Dive Skills Workshop
    A Divemaster candidate must master 24 diving skills and demonstrate each of them.

  • Workshop: Dive Site Setup and Management
    During the workshop, the Divemaster candidate is responsible for preparing the dive site and managing diving activities, including: selecting a place to assemble the equipment, preparing rescue equipment, taking care of divers before diving and supervising the dive.

  • Mapping Project
    Prepare a detailed map of a familiar open water dive site, taking into account the bottom profile, points of interest, relevant environmental information, recommended entry/exit points, local facilities and potential hazards.

  • Workshop: Dive Briefing
    Conduct a pre-dive briefing for a known dive site, including all important information.

  • Search and Recovery Scenario
    Demonstrate a methodical method of searching an area for a small and large object. Bring a large object (weighing no more than 11 kg / 25 pounds) to the surface using a buoyancy device (lift bag).

  • Deep Dive Scenario
    Together with a buddy, conduct a deep dive (below 18 metres / 60 feet) while observing full safety precautions.
